Event Description
Over the last few decades, Africa has witnessed strengthened capacity in the workforce as well as improvements in policy planning. Much of this success is a direct outcome of tremendous growth in the African higher education sector and increased research output. Through a generous Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) grant, the University of Pretoria (UP) has contributed significantly to this success by providing graduate training in Agricultural and Applied Economics, skills development and data support for decision-makers and researchers across Africa over the period 2011 – 2019.
